SWGOH Webstore Locked After Creating EA Account w/ Linked Email
TL;DR
- Can’t access SWGOH webstore since ~Aug 2.
- Issue started after I linked an EA account (created using same email as the one linked to my SWGOH account; I somehow linked it to something that wasn't an EA account before?).
- Game crashes with ErrorCode 9.0 when trying to unlink account.
- EA Help says my email isn’t tied to any SWGOH account (it 100% is).
- In-game support is slow, inconsistent, and resets chats constantly.
- Found someone with identical issue who got it fixed, but I haven’t been as lucky.
- Running out of options — any advice or help appreciated.
- I still have access to the game, but only through Google Play and trying to login with the EA account results in another ErrorCode9.0
Description of the Issue
Around August 2nd, I started having issues accessing the SWGOH webstore. I was getting "error sending code" failures when trying to log in — no clue why.
I randomly decided that it might be because I don't have an actual registered EA account so I went and created an EA account using the same email that was already linked to my SWGOH account. That's when things went south.
Ever since creating that EA account:
- I can’t log into the webstore
- I can’t unlink the EA account from in-game (any attempt gives me ErrorCode 9.0 and crashes the game)
What I’ve Tried
I’ve opened 2 support cases and have had 6 different live chats with EA Help (each requiring a 3+ hour wait just to connect to someone). None of them have been helpful. Every time they say:
- “The email isn’t linked to any SWGOH account” (It is. I literally have 50+ webstore emails that prove it was working before.)
- “You need to contact in-game support”
- “We can’t look up your player ID, sorry.”
On the in-game side, it’s been just as frustrating:
- Every reply comes from a different person
- Nobody seems to read the previous messages
- Takes 3-4 days to get a canned response
- Some chats just get closed with no resolution after a few days
At this point, I’ve basically been stuck in support purgatory for nearly two weeks. No access to the store, no progress on resolving the account linking, no consistency in help.
Potentially Useful Information
After digging through EA forums, I found this post, which describes a problem nearly identical to what I’m dealing with — same situation, same error code, same symptoms.
The OP of that thread said support was eventually able to fix it on their end (after somehow getting general EA Help to re-activate the linked account), but I haven’t had that luck.
Ally code is 458-147-669. I can't even buy any packs in game as it just says "Tap For Price" and fails when I press it.
