[AA] Imaginary Friend reset after taking it to another lot

I dragged mine into her inventory so her family could go on a one-day vacation with her infant sister to celebrate the sister's milestone. I didn't end up playing with the IM there, but when I got back and had her play again, it had started like a fresh doll.

I just lost my third imaginary friend for some reason. Brought it with me to the park and now I can't summon him anymore. This always seems to happen when the child have max relationship with the imaginary friend.

I had this happen too, then none of the dolls I got to replace it were eligible to be a new imaginary friend so I figured it had to still be in her possession somehow. I was looking through my household inventory in build a couple days ago and found the owned doll. Check there if you haven’t yet!

Every time I try to leave the lot without the doll, I get the message that it was left on another lot (it's at home), and it gets zapped into the child's inventory. After 2-3 times, the doll reset, and I lost the relationship.

I am playing on a Mac with mods, and all the packs (except for about half the kits). This has happened to my sim and his imaginary friend several times. At first my sim bought the doll Li'l Monster and turned him into the Friend and all was fine. After traveling to other lots the first time, the IF reset, it reset so that the only options were play, tell secret or put into inventory. I repaired the game, removed caches, and when I loaded them again, the original menu appeared to allow turning the doll into IF again. So I did that. But it's happened 3 times so far that my sim leaving the lot, resets the doll to the original state and the friend is gone from his relationship panel. Relationships are at max each time before it happens. I can make the doll into a friend again and restart the whole process but this obviously undermines the feeling of specialness that we are looking for in an imaginary friend! I haven't really tested this further since my sim is about to age up and I want the option to get them to join household, so I think I won't leave the lot till that happens. But after that I will test this more with different dolls, and seeing if it is because the doll is in the inventory when leaving the lot, playing another household, closing the game, etc.

Adding my voice - I've been playing with aging off, so my child sim has been interacting with their imaginary friend for a few sim-years, and now it has reset, and she has to start the friendship from scratch. I was also having the issue where I would get the message that the doll had to be returned to her inventory. 

This is currently happening to me, anytime I switch to a different household and then go back to the household with the imaginary friend it says that the toy is "Not Owned". I got one of my sims to top friendship with the imaginary friend and learned the friendship handshake and now after returning back to the household we are not friends and it has reset back to the original name prior to renaming :(

I have found that one of my kids' invisible friends unlinks and loses all relationship with the doll. It's happened twice to her now, even though she had a max relationship with the doll and talked to it at least daily. (This, though, only happens with one child. The other has no issue with her invisible friend.

Started using mods. Just Twisted Mexs search inventory and better cheat console. However, they suddenly stopped working yesterday. ( adding a more secure search to the base game would be great btw for fridge bookcases, chest and inventory.)

Aa is riddled with Bugs, and last kids camp again same kid get home and this time althought the doll is still linked and her friend she can no longer summon it.

Adding: Imaginary Friend relationships are also lost when moving a child to another household. This is despite following the instructions in the AA Lessons:  "If a child Sim who owns an Imaginary Friend changes households, they must keep their ImagineMe! Doll in their inventory before moving to preserve their original Imaginary Friend!"

Moved my child into their Grandparents household with the Imaginary Friend in their personal inventory. They lost their relationship. This is despite having already completed the Formative Moment of having a Creative Best Imaginary Friend.

"Had a Creative Best Imaginary Friend (From Formative Moments) As a Child, this Sim imagined up an Imaginary friend out of their ImagineMe! Doll! They formed a special relationship and spent a lot of time doing arts and crafts. As an Adult, this Sim will build creative Skills more quickly."

New Best Friend Krafty Kid. Previous Invisible Best Friend is nameless.

Forgot to say: This is in my regular save and in my vanilla test save.

Also, I know it's not BBF, just too tired of all this to change it.

Same child is now spending the Holidays with his Uncle's family. Invisible Friend has reverted to "Not Owned" and shows up in Milestones as a nameless Best Friend. Not bothering to go through the whole process of making friends with Krafty Kid, again.
