I'm having the same problem. When I played yesterday my sim child was best friends with her Imaginary friend. Then she went to school and the Imaginary disappeared. And today the doll only gives me these options and her friendship is also gone with my sim child. I had her interact with it for hours but nothing changes. I'm on PC and have no mods or CC and I own all the packs.
EDIT: I deleted my cache files and repaired my game and now my sim can summon the imaginary friend again, but the relationship had to start all over again.
