[AA] Sims try to cook for themselves in hotels even when a chef is assigned

Lock the doors for kitchens and areas where food is served for everyone but staff and make them little rooms with at least half walls. This should prevent customers from trying to cook.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t work. When I close the door to a kitchen for everyone but stuff, chef cannot enter the kitchen neither. Also, chef cooks and leaves meals in the kitchen so guests should have access to the kitchen to take food.

I havent had a restaurent in forever. Why are the meals in the kitchen? Arent waiters supposed to take it to the customers? Or could you build things so the staff doesnt leave the meals in the kitchen but in an area where customers have access to but not in the kitchen?

Try this if you still want to lock the kitchen down.

Select the chef, lock the doors for everyone but the chef. Then select the door and "unlock for specific sim...". Select the staff.

Or after locking it for everyone but the chef, select the door and choose "allow access to..." -> employees.

I’m not sure I understand you correctly. Chef is an npc selected for this vacation. I cannot select him and close the door for everyone but chef. I don’t have such an action on the door. And the sims I can open the door to are those who only live in my household.

Just to be sure, this is what I mean to lock the doors:

But if you can find that NPC in the manage households list (on the world selection and region screens, upper right) you could enter that household, visit the lot and then try to lock the doors. He is assigned to the lot so he should be able to interact this way with the doors. Just set the household to inactive again after you are done.

I also have the same problem..

For my boarding school I would like to have an option for the students to just eat without cooking. The cooking will be done by a staff members who does cleaning and repairing during other hours of the day. 

Zasz_Zerg, I think you misunderstood NastasiaZi issue. This is the getaway gameplay from AA, not the restaurant gameplay from DO, where there are no waiters or chefs counted as employees. So, locking the door for everyone but employees isn’t a solution because there’s no option for that or unlock for specific Sim. The only option is "lock the door for everyone but played household members."

NastasiaZi, I have a better workaround than locking/unlocking the door:

1. Add a timeslot for the chef to cook when guests are resting or sleeping.
2. Don’t include the chef in every getaway timeslot, like not making the chef sleep, just add them to the food preparation timeslot. If you do that, the chef will leave the lot after the timeslot ends and will return when it starts again. So, the chef won’t be sleeping and missing the time to prepare food.

So far, I’ve succeeded with that, but in my case, I need way more time for the chef to prepare food because it’s so laggy during getaways. Sims just stand around.

I'm having similar issues. All of the guests at getaways cook at breakfast, leaving food everywhere (the guests should just be eating). For some reason the staff (who should clean) hardly clean anything, and the drag feature does not work for me at custom venues / getaways - so I cannot drag the various plates etc into the sink myself. That means all the excess food becomes spoilt and the environment gets filthy, causing the sims to have the uncomfortable mood constantly. 

Has anyone else found that the drag feature does not work at getaways?

I do not use any mods or CC.
