Adding my 2 cents in here, I'm having this issue as well. Windows 11, in an apartment where I live with 5 other homes and my landlord sim. This is a shared space. After sharing this issue on fb people are reporting butler's and maids are putting the dumbbells in storage instead of the Sims racking them but I'm not seeing them in any storage. I throw potlucks and am worried the guests are somehow using the barbells and walking home with them but can't catch who's doing it. Books have gone missing as well. No burglars have been able to steal anything.
If I delete the rack and re-add it, it comes with new dumbbells which quickly disappear again.
