I am having this same issue on my Xbox One. One of my sims is in the conservationist career, and the other is an actress. Usually, the conservationist sim goes to work an hour before the other. When the other gets a pop-up to send alone or go with, and I choose to go with, the conservationist sim is brought home. It makes the sound that you get when given simoleons, but I don't get anything.
