This has been an issue forever, and for some reason, the sims team keeps marking related threads as it being "fixed". Its not fixed. It's been an issue for at least a year (probably longer but who can keep track with how buggy this game is). This and the other issues that get triggered by traveling off your home lot and coming back (no infant milestones completing, sometimes sims not being able to eat food - instead they just grab it and sit not moving with the full plate in front of them, and more). I do not understand why they cannot fix whatever the issue is with traveling. It's what's causing most of the bugs I deal with constantly.
