My sim has been living in Nordhaven since it was released, but since she's moved in she seems to keep receiving death notices about mere acquaintances, on an almost in game weekly basis. Due to this,...

there are a couple threads that sounds similar to what you are seeing.
Found this one but there was another that I currently cant' find.
Sims outside of household all dying at once | EA Forums - 5054143
Questions to you:
- Do those Sims actually die ?
- What do they die off ?
- Do you have neighborhood stories activated ?

Hi crinrict,
In answer to your questions:
- I honestly don't know if those sims actually die, as they are barely acquaintances with my sim; certainly not townie sims she regularly interacts with at her business. (My best guess is they are sims she meets briefly in group convos at events.)
- I don't really pay attention to the little 'eulogy' notices that accompany the death notices.
- And yes, I do have the neighborhood stories activated. But I also have the auto aging turned off for sims outside of the household I currently play at a given time. (So, while the occasional death notice is to be expected, pretty much on a weekly or bi-weekly basis is really overkill. Pun totally intended.

Would be interesting to know if they are all dying of old age or an accident.
Since the game does only randomize age a bit, it's possible that suddenly a lot of Sims die at the same time cause they reached the end of their time when they were all generated at the same time.

Could be, I suppose. But in playing since the start of The Sims, I've never experienced so many acquaintance deaths in such relatively rapid succession before. It's not only weird, but rather annoying as well.

Every time I stop playing with my own households and want to play with the other townies, they're already dead. I don't think I've ever managed to play with the Goths, for instance. Only had the chance to play with de Pancakes once. If I don't play them right from the start, they die. All of them. All the time. Of unknown causes but they do disappear. It happens hourly!

MermaidSpark Best to upvote this thread in your case: Sims outside of household all dying at once | EA Forums - 5054143

MermaidSpark, that's why I keep copies of the main townie families (Goths, Pancakes, Landgrabs, etc) in my Gallery Library. That way, if I want to specifically interact with them, I just place them in their traditional homes and carry on. 😉

GameGirl2168a That is a very good advice that I wish I'd known before 😅 Thank you!
