Auto-solving energy needs creates 'Pick up Toddler' instead

My house is too big for me to go and search for the beds, so I just click on the energy icon in their needs so they can auto-solve it. This works for my child and toddler sims, but for my adult sim, ...

This happened to me multiple times today even though I'd never seen it before then. Clicked the energy auto-solve, sim got an action to pick up toddler. I cancelled that and tried again. Same thing.

My sims house didn't actually have a bed so I thought that might be why (they do have couches to nap on), but it sounds like maybe that's not it.
