You can transfer the business to another household member rather than selling it entirely, but other than that I haven't found any other way around it.

Thank you for commenting to confirm! very disappointing as this really does impacts gameplay if you rotate.

Yep, and i suspect that's why more people have not noticed it. If you are playing a legacy or something, you may never encounter this, unless you befriend one of the Nordhaven families. And even with rotational players, because there is a delay between triggering it and seeing it's effects, you end up with something like happened with you, where you trigger it, but only try to visit the household months later.... there's probably lots of people who have triggered it and will discover the broken household some time in the future. I was just lucky i happened to try to visit Johnny's household not too long after I triggered it. But the Koopmans are still borked for me, I discovered later. I must have gone to a pottery class. But at least I don't really visit them, and they're gonna die soon anyway. (rotational AND long lifespans... so they've hung on for quite a while, but getting there)
I miss being able to go to my small businesses as a customer.

yes and i didn't realize this totally makes it so sims can't visit the household AT ALL. i have two very important households who i know i visited as a customer at least a 2 months ago. trying to roll back to another save isn't really realistic for me. 😓 i will save you the 90 paragraph rant...hopefully more people will vote on this issue because this is pretty major and very disrupting for me
