[BH] Can't create family recipe

When I choose to create a family recipe my sim begins to create the recipe, gets halfway through, and stops. When I queue up "continue ---" she is unable to continue and the little "can't get there" thought bubble appears above her head. I've tried moving the cutting board to a different place, and it does not fix the issue. Furthermore, she can START the recipe, so she should be able to continue it, but somehow it doesn't work. This is quite annoying, especially as it continues to charge me for the recipe. I'd like for it to be fixed soon, because my sim is on level 10 cooking and I'm doing a legacy challenge, so I want her to be able to teach her daughters the recipe.

Edit By Crinrict: Added pack tag to title.

Made Test vice versa: Took simple "Mushroom soup" from Basegame instead of the spicy-version and it works. So the bug really happens if we try a recipe came with an add-on.

The thing would be easier if they were marked if they're from base game or from which pack.

tried it in a new save and it was fine, also tried it in my legacy save and it was working again, so no idea why it stopped working in the first place.

The bug (or part of the bug) appears to be specific to Cottage Living recipes (at least in my case), as I've been able to make other expansion pack recipes. I was trying to make Golden Omelets, and it just wouldn't work. My Sim just stood there. So I saved the game as a test game, removed my mods, and tried again.  Same thing: my Sim just stood there. Then I found this thread. Tossed my mods back in and had my Sim make a garden salad. She made the salad. Then she made bhel puri. Then Burmeses samosa soup, and then a poke bowl, then superfood salad. Whatever the bug is, I suppose it affects everybody differently.

Now it becomes even more odd:

I've made a normal Sim in CAS and play with him (Pavel). He made two recipes in meantime, one based on a base game recipe and one based on a recipe from City living (I forget the problem and it worked, then).

Now he have a friend, they live together and he, Patrick, is a game-made fairy. Now Pavel should teach Patrick both recipes (fairies can eat, they just don't need to and he like to cook). One worked, the other doesn't. In Patrick's notebook both are listed, but at the fridge I can choose just one. (See pictures)

Is it because it's a fairy? Or maybe he just didn't learnt it, because city living recipes you have to eat first before you can cook it. I will try. But if, there should be a solution for situations like that, I think. Or at least a message like: "Patrick can't cook it, because he have just to lern it first." Maybe it should grayed-out in fridge. Something like that.

Now I let Pavel make these balls and let Patrick eat them . Then I'll report.

So I tried and indeed, just after the message came, now Patrick can cook these balls also in fridge the second, city living recipe was available.

Message at developers: Fix this whole bug and integrate a message about recipes like that the sims have to lern first before they can cook them. Please.

  • I'm having an issue with no mods, on PC, freshly updated. Except instead of poke, it's with the cricket meal. When I finish all the choices and click the check mark, nothing happens, the action doesn't queue at all and the sim just continues what they were doing.

I play an off the grid lot and I create a family recipe, but when I want to cook it, it's greyed and it tells me I need to create a family recipe first (which I have done).

Sorry, it's not off the grid lot but a simple living lot.
