I have the same problem, I don't run any mods and I only have Business & Hobbies and Lovestruck Expansions. I'm running a tattoo shop and I hired tattoo artists to tend the tables while I skill up my tattooing. Now every time when I load the game or after I closed the shop all my employees are gone and I have to rehire them. It's very frustrating and annoying. I reloaded, cleared cache, check for updates, checked the game integrity and created a new saved game .... nothing worked.
