I have the same problem in my game, if I place the Shimmer by QWIRL lamp on a table, the table is unusable to my Sims. I placed only one table with this lamp in my Sims house and when to do her homework, she opted for the floor. Once I put the lamp on the floor instead, she used the chair and table every time.
I also totally agree with your sentiment, Down-in-Simsland, I also had a bug report swapped to this "awaiting additional reports" and am able to replicate the bug in new saves. As you said, mods can be used to fix many issues, and I'm sure I could use a mod to fix my issue as well, but it is frustrating to spend the time reporting and testing the issue and being sent to this new category. Thank you for reporting the bugs you see and making fixes. Here is hoping the bug fix team will be able to sort quickly through these new categories and assist us.
