Also here to confirm this one, really annoying. Explains a lot about my business profitability!
I think they're SUPPOSED to only take one serving, so the price calculation is accurate but they're taking hte whole thing.
Pic one is price of a full tray, pic two is price of a single serving.
I believe this is because in the Small Business purchase autonomous interaction, when a Sim purchases "Food_Any" or "Drink_Any" tagged items, the outcome is "send to inventory". It doesn't split it up, it just sends the entire platter. You can test this by selling a 4 stack of candy at a business with "Eat" as an activity- the purchaser will be seen eating up to 4 pieces of the purchased candy before leaving, meaning they got the whole tray.
I'm not sure this can be fixed without a separate interaction for buying food (all small business purchases use one interaction) with different rules for behavior.

The only interim fix would be an update to BrazenLotus' "Pick up all servings" mod because the candy doesn't even have a pick up option. If it's even possible, BL would have to tag all the candy with a pick up option.

I almost have a fix for this but it doesn't work on my end.
My suggested, and attempted, fix is as follows.
Prioritized Tested Outcomes for the following:- A continuation of foodstick_grab, testing for the candy function
- A continuation of ice cream bowl/cone grab, testing for the ice cream function
- A continuation of popcorn grab if one exists, testing for popcorn (I dont think this one is necessary)
- A continuation of generic_food_grab, testing for food_multiserve and drink_any
These changes opt to not clone the object into an inventory, and *not* destroy the object being purchased, but instead, as the grab interactions are what OUR sims can do (grab a serving), in theory this would make the customer grab the food as if to eat it immediately, and then do that. But my modded fix didn't work. I think I'm on the right track to a solution, but contrary to popular belief, modders don't actually enjoy spending their saturday trying to fix obvious bugs with this game. Especially when it doesn't work right in the end- Crinolina5 months agoSeasoned Rookie
Could the customer just pay full price for the tray they're buying? The display cases only hold like 6 meals anyway. If they just buy and pay for the entire tray, at least we have more game play with stocking the shelves.
