Could the customer just pay full price for the tray they're buying? The display cases only hold like 6 meals anyway. If they just buy and pay for the entire tray, at least we have more game play with stocking the shelves.
I tried to figure out how to make it do that, but the pricing stuff is all under-the-hood and I could not manage it! There are two issues at play:
-Sims take the entire serving, when the expected behavior is that they take one
-Sims do not pay for the entire serving, as the game is expecting them to take one
Under the hood, the solution to this is more to make them just take one serving, as it's the intended behavior. So fixing the pricing to be "the whole thing" is a bandaid in the wrong direction, I think.

Meals in the cauldron are pre-divided into individual servings. Is there a way the game can allow us to cook regularly and the output is the individual servings?

That is, quite literally, how the currently broken Brazen Lotus grab servings mod works. It makes the Sim take servings over and over and over all at once, lowering the cauldron's hidden count of how many servings are left. His mod does the exact same thing.
Myself and another modder have fixed it for ourselves but as it's not our mod, it is not available. It also doesn't work exactly right for a few things like the food stick form of servings like candy.

Cool! Might the problem be the display cases and not the interaction itself? I've noticed customer sims can take and buy servings from a regular fridge, just not from the display cases.
