Please follow these steps to test your game on vanilla game with no mods/cc
- Create a backup of your save game
- Move your mods folder to the desktop
- Delete the following files from your user folder.
- localthumbcache
- Any lastException Files
- Any LastCrash files.
- Test your save (you will loose all cc on the save but since you created a backup you can go back to that afterwards) and see if the same error occurs, then report back.
So i've tested this in another save game with the same mods enabled and it's working fine, placed the same built retail lot in Gibbi Point (I saved it to my gallery), purchased the store with a household and I can set things for sale and interact with the cash register and hire employees ok.
I go back to my other save game where the issue was present and repeated the above in Gibbi Point and things don't work unless I switch to build mode and back to live mode, after hiring employees and then saving and going back to manage worlds and going back to the same household that owned the new retail store, everything is reset again and the hired employees have to be rehired again, it's just an endless cycle of rehiring, as I mentioned before the same household owns other retail stores in other worlds and they are working fine, Gibbi Point for some wierd reason is giving me trouble for retail in this save game.
I've spent the better part of the last 2 days trying to figure this out.
It's definatley not a mod issue because with the same mods enabled it's working fine in other save games, I can only assume this particular save file is now somehow borked, all I can do right now is not bother with the retail lot, build something else like a residential lot and shove a new household in there.
I wasn't going to buy anymore expansion packs but I thought i'd treat myself this christmas, now I'll definatley not buy anymore, this game has become one annoying big buggy mess and I've just had about enough of it now.

please for the future, do test without mods before reporting something. Just because mods work on one save and not on the other, does make it not a mod issue.
Anyways, I thought this issue was fixed which is why I insisted on the vanilla test but it seems I misremembered and the bug is still open so I merged your post now.
