[BH] Small Business preset not saving properly/Error 13

I haven’t found any other bug report for this problem so I’m gonna file one. When I attempt to place a small business with a residential lot, in other words, I have a business on the first floor and bedrooms on the second floor, everything functions as normal until I try to save my game in which case it gives me save error 13. I can open a business if my Sims do not live on the lot, but my Sims are unable to live on the lot Because whenever I attempt to do that it causes save error 13. This is incredibly disappointing and frustrating because this was the main advertised feature of the small businesses pack and it does not work. It breaks your game. I’m on a console, no mods no cc never used. I don’t really have any hope that this is going to be fixed, but I thought I would let people know.

do you mean you have no mods/cc at all or just not the ones that were mentioned in connection with this error ?

If you have none, do you have any LastException files in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 ?

- Delete the ones you have
- Trigger the error again
- Check if new ones are created
- If that is the case, please copy/paste the content here. You can open the file with any text editor.

Deleting the file won't fix your issue. Posting the info is meant for troubleshooting. 

I just got an Error Code 13 when trying to save my game. The game I was trying to save, is a new game on a new save file I just created today in order to play the Forever Friends event. I have no mods or cc. I believe I'm playing on a Windows 11 PC. I do own add-ons. I am repairing the game right now. How did I encounter this? Today (Wednesday September 24th, 2025), I created a young adult sim, a child sim, and an infant sim. I started a brand new game on a new save file to work on the Forever Friends event. I managed to complete week one but decided to keep playing with the family I was using. I noticed things going wrong when I had used Cupid's Corner to find a sim to meetup with. My child Sim was at school, so I traveled to meetup with the sim I met on Cupid's Corner, that action sent my infant to daycare. At the meetup location the game was being slow and not responding. I would have actions for my Sim to do and she would keep freezing and just standing there not completing the action. I kept pausing the game and  un-pausing it and oddly enough it would help the sim finish the action she was doing. It still went slow though. Eventually I parted ways with the Sim I was hanging out with and went back to my Sim's house. My child Sim did homework, while my adult sim practiced sitting up with my infant sim and I noticed the game would make the (sound effect/music) and do animations as if my infant achieved the sitting up milestone but the popup notification saying the milestone was achieved never came, and my infant never sat up. I have my infant practice tummy time and a similar thing happened; the game acted as if the infant achieved a milestone but nothing happened. I also noticed my child Sim never got the "first day of school" milestone. I decided it was time to log off the game and try again later and that's when I discovered it would not save.

Hopefully error codes always get top priority, regardless of upvotes, because this is a huge issue if you can't save the game :(

The date is 10.15.25 and I have noticed a bug. I have spent hours building a small business "bed and breakfast". I have saved the game multiple times and I had no issues saving UNTIL I went to open the small business and now I'm getting an error code 13. I built the lot from scratch and I don't have any mods installed on my computer for sims. Its super frustrating not being able to play the game the way its intended to be played. I wish EA would do better about the quality of their packs and content rather than the quantity...ugh. Any ways I can fix this on my end?? Or will I have to wait months for a fix?

 I'm also playing on pc an have checked the integrity of my game files just in case that was the issue.

I have gotten Error Code 13 twice now, on the same Save. After the first time, I repaired the game, did a "Save As", and it worked for several days of irl play, until today. I play vanilla on a Windows 11 laptop. I own all EP's except EbN, AA, and all other dlc except for about 5 kits. I was playing on a residential lot with a small business. It did throw a last exception notice, and I am willing to send my save. I'll have to look into how to do that. Am very much not tech savvy, so I'll consult my son for help with this. I just ran another repair, and will see if this fixes the save for now. Have also been having issues with the in-game notification wall in this save, with an old message remaining in the queue, covering the newest ones. It refuses to be deleted. If I try to delete it, it deletes the new message hiding underneath. It comes and goes. I'll search to see if this is related to the error 13 bug, or a separate issue.

When I open a business and try to save, a message saying "Code Error : 13" appear and it doesn't save my game, so I close the game to see if it saved and when I come back it haven't saved anything since I've opened the business and if I don't fix my game I can't save anything because of Code 13.

I only have Business&Hobbies and no cc/mods 

I accidentally posted my Report in the identical bug for the consoles section, apparently the creation of /specifically/ a daycare in Businesses and Hobby's leads to a situation where I am unable to save. I  /believe/ this is related to the recent laundry list item regarding supervised customers at Businesses (i forgot what bug that was specifically but I remember supervised customers were a no go), also as the error code/bug is one of save prevention I have no save after it, but I do have a save prior to the reproduction steps I listed in the consoles section (stupid Google sent me to a playstation item). If you think it would help I can definitely attempt to send in my save, but knowing what I know this isn't something that's saved in the game data (because the error is failing to save after opening a daycare/small business with supervised customers)
