Black Photos & Paintings after update 1.124.54/2.33

• the photos are technically older I suppose, as they were taken in game maybe a couple weeks ago.

•the save would be considered older but it was made only within the past two months. 

•I wasn’t doing anything, the bug happened as soon as I loaded in, the game crashed and then the photos were black. 

•yes, I was loaded into the save and then the game crashed. 

•the photos were taken by the moschino camera on a tripod. 

•I used the brighter lighting filter. 

•the photo was of excellent quality. 

•I play on PS5

The second issue you've mentioned can be followed over in this thread for any updates. 

I wouldn't say I had anything NEW happen so far

But the photos that I have saved to my library while this bug was happening aren't fixed when placed down and I'm not sure if they're suppose to be or can be fixed

10 / 21/ 25 (Sunn Legacy) - I saved a room to my gallery this day. It had 8 photos. 4 photos ( which I believe had filters on them) were black when placed before this update and after this update. In a New save, all the photos are black

9 / 13 / 25 (Short Legacy) - I saved a lot of photos from one save to a room. When placed (in old and new saves) all of the photos are normal except for the photobooth(HSY) and cherished photos(Lovestruck). I didn't upload any other photo types: graduation/etc

Again, I'm not sure if it was supposed to be fixed for old library/gallery saves, but that is what I thought from patch notes

"This fix is retroactive and should no longer occur when downloaded from a Gallery upload where the bug was occurring"

I also don't know why the October room has ALL black photos in a new save when the September room didn't

Update: As I'm writing this as testing things, I placed the October room in an old save, but different save from where the photos were taken and only 2 photos are back (not the one with the filters)

That's even more confusing

On 10 / 22 / 25, I saved another room from that same save and in an old save, it's good. In a new save, it's also good. That's only one day apart

Photos I saved on 10 / 19 / 25 (Very Veggie) are also good in old and new saves (except for the cherished photos of course

The photos from the 21st of October 2025, are the only ones going ALL black in a new save (- minus the 4 with filters that are also black from the library when place in the OG save. I think since they turned black in game (bc of the filter at the time), it was always going to be/turn black.)

On 8 / 2 / 25 (SIB), the photos that had filters are fine in new and old saves. (maybe black photos caused by filters weren't happening then (?) I'm not sure

on 10/18/25, I also had 2 photos with filters and they're fine. I think after October 21st, I stopped taking photos with filters bc I knew it was a issue for sure. But these photo were saved only 3 days before

Note: The photo that I saved in October were recent photos taken when saved because I wanted to save my photos from going black. I saved them to the library before exiting. I have no idea why my Sunn Legacy photos are being so weird and different

Another update: I'm even more confused because I've been placing the Sunn Legacy room in other old saves and one photo appeared... that isn't from that save? I saved these photo to my library right after I took them, so I know it's correct. It's actually one of the filtered photos that have changed...

This save is from June 1st 2025 and the photo that appeared is from this save, but it's not the saved photo from the gallery

I play exclusively on ps5 and with the previous update, I didn’t have the black photo bug and now with the newest update, it is back. The CAS bug where I can’t use the cursor with controller nearly makes the game unplayable 

Is this happening with old, or new photos?

The Graduation photo got in graduation on Apr/24/2026 and then uploaded to My Library.

Are you using a brand new save, or an old one?

Used pre-existing save but other one which uploaded to My Library.

What were you doing when this happened? (i.e. taking a photo out of your Sim’s inventory, swapping households, traveling)

Placed the house with the Graduation photo to a lot.

Are you actively loaded into the lot where the painting/photo is placed?

Go into the lot from World Manage then placed. Not active Sims there.

How were these photos taken? (i.e. paintings, with the camera, through the photo booth, or with the phone)

Not taken by me. That's Graduation photo.

For paintings, was this a custom paint from reference, or a normal painting?

Was the painting downloaded from the Gallery?

Did you add any filters to the photos?

No.

What quality is the photo or painting?

I don't know. Did the Graduation photo have the quality?
