I have an issue where the pop up for following highschoolers to school does not show if the follow message is turned on, and then they take a vacation day off school. I need to complete a teen aspiration where I need to go to the high school but my sims are never going to school due to this bug.

On PS4, I have two teen sims. One gets the follow prompt but the other doesnt.

About a week ago, I was playing the game as usual but when it was time for my teenage Sim to go to high school, I did not receive the message asking if I wanted to follow him. Despite having the 'Follow' option on, I am unable to physically visit the high school and have him attend classes. Oddly enough, despite this inability to follow the Sim, when he is at school, his icon on the bottom right is not greyed-out for some reason.

I tried looking this up and attempted to replicate the suggestions that I found, but with no avail. As a result, I waited a few days and despite this, I am still facing the same issue(s). In addition to the High School Years expansion pack not working properly on my end, so does Get to Work. You see, my Sim's father works in the police officer career and likewise, the 'Follow' option appears to be broken as well for him.

Indeed, I am also unable to send my teenage Sim to his after-school activity, despite pressing the button to go to it as much as possible. For some reason, it won't send him to it. And when I use another Sim in the household to travel or reopen the game, the game makes my teenage Sim leave school.

This is as best as I can explain these issues I have faced -- which have forced me to play the game less as a result. To go into specifics, I play the game through the EA app installed on my HP laptop, which in turn, uses the Windows operating system. This is all I have to provide for the moment.

I deleted the original high school that came with high school stories and got a new high school off the gallery. I edited the school and it has all the requirements for a high school. The lot type is set to
"High School."

With the new high school, I cant travel to my school with my teen sims. Enable Follow Messages is on. I even turned it off and then back on. Ive tried this with multiple teen sims, and I cannot follow any of them to school. 

What could the problem be?

A few days ago, I made the grave mistake of trying to follow all three teens to high school (I only just bought HSY a few days ago, and wasn't aware of any bug related to this). 
Only one of them had the progress bar, and when the school day ended, only that sim was allowed to go home. The other two had an exclamation mark, and blinked red. The only option I had was switch control to them, but when I did, I still couldn't bring them home. 

After closing the game a couple of times, I could finally bring them home. This happened on a Wednesday in-game, but the rest of the week they couldn't go to school (were just marked with "day off"). 
The teen I had been able to follow still went to school as normal, but I no longer got the prompt to follow to school. 

The next in-game week, they go to school (rabbithole), but only the teen that's been behaving somewhat normal is greyed out, not the other two. 

I tried testing another family with teens in the save, they also go to rabbithole-school (no follow-prompt).
Even though I  just exited this family without saving, this caused my three teens in main family to leave school, with no option of going back (and lowering their responsibility).

I tried testing on another save, there HSY works as normal and I get the follow to school-prompt. 
So it's just this save, since I tried following all three teens at the same time. 

How can I fix this?

I don’t get the pop up in the morning before they go to school so they just end up going into a Rabbit Hole instead of me going with them? I have high school years and it’s turned on in the career tab so i’m not sure what’s going wrong? 

This has just happened to me too. I have had the pack basically since it came out and now all of a sudden I can't travel with my sims to school or work! Has anyone come up with a fix that actually works?

Jesus Christ.... I made multiple replies in another thread related to this exact same issue that was marked as solved not that long ago yet here I am again, complaining again about the exact same issue not even a month later... This is beyond ridiculous, what is even the point of this pack if it hasn't been working for nearly an entire year with no word from anyone who works at EA or is related to EA in anyway beyond marking a clearly not solved issue as solved? This is pointless, I bought the high school years pack because I play primarily as teenagers for a long period of time before aging them up and the high school system has grades that relate to the university and make it better yet you can't even use those because the sims are constantly going to a rabbit hole instead of going to school how this $60AUD pack was intended to work. I genuinely think it's time EA retire this pack and give refunds or give everyone a free pack of the same value or they actually take the time to fix it instead of making more packs. This is the worst issue EA have ever had which is saying a lot considering the only thing EA have are issues.

Can't follow sims to school, can't have sims leave the school, so they get trapped there and miss activities, can't have grades level up because none of them are even being given tasks. Pointless time waster at this stage... I play for the event pass items and then never touch it again because I can't even play how I want to play and paid to play. 

Nobody has come up with a fix since this pack released. It's been an incredibly broken and useless pack since launch. This exact same issue was a massive problem in 2023, then it became a reoccurring issue that has never gone away since, it has been THREE years nearly since this pack first had this exact major issue and they marked a thread containing this exact issue as solved nearly a year ago but clearly, it isn't. At this point, this pack just needs to be retired, clearly they have no intentions of actually fixing this pack.
