Can’t turn imaginary friends into real sims

I am thinking it is more mod related but not sure where to start with my mods folder. I have so many mods that I don't know what one or ones could be causing this issue. I had only one mod in the mods folder when it worked but now that I put the rest of the mods I use in the folder, it doesn't work again. I also know I am not the only one with this problem, there is one other person that is having the same issue, but they disabled their mods. So, they have the problem without mods as well.

Rachel31311993​ Start by testing with NO mods or CC. Rename the Mods folder, delete the file called localthumbcache, and try again. You can exit without saving. Note that disabling mods can still leave the effects of some mods in place.

luthienrising​ I just tried what you said to do. I tested it with no mods in the mods folder, deleted the localthumbcache, and the same thing happened. I can't get my sim to turn their imaginary friend into a real sim. The option shows up, I click on it and it looks like was gonna work but the doll disappears a few minutes and comes back. After two or three tries it won't even say the option to turn them into a real sim after a while. I did however yesterday only have the MCCC mod in the mods folder and it did work then. I don't know what could be causing this issue. Someone else I know put it on discord that they are having the same problem as I am with the imaginary friends. So I know I am not the only one. 

Rachel31311993​ Thanks for doing that testing! I'm moving you to Gameplay Issues for now. Have you tried in a different household or a new save to see if it works in those scenarios?

luthienrising​ I have tried in a new save and the same thing still happens but I haven't tried a different household yet. I will try that sometime today and let you know what happens.

I can't get my kid sim or any other kid sim in a save to turn their imaginary friend real once they age up to a teen. It always shows the option but nothing happens. The only time it worked was when I had only MCCC in the mod folder and it was the Lil' Monster ImagineMe Doll. Pretty Pegacorn ImagineMe Doll and Krafty Kid ImagineMe Doll don't work. I've tried them both and the same thing happens with either. I haven't tried the Wild Child ImagineMe Doll yet. I have tried with mods in the mods folder and I have tried putting the mods folder on the desktop and nothing works.

Do you have any LastException files in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 ?

- Delete the ones you have
- Trigger the error again
- Check if new ones are created
- If that is the case, please copy/paste the content here. You can open the file with any text editor.

Deleting the file won't fix your issue. Posting the info is meant for troubleshooting. 

crinrict​ I get a lot of last exception files every time I play my game. Just about everything my sims do causes a last exception to pop up. I'll try to see if when I play the game sometime today if new ones pop up but the texts in them can be very long at times and then be very short other times. I have used that pastebin.com before to have someone look at it when it comes to mods.

Should I use pastebin.com again and copy the url and put it here if anything pops up? Plus I have been getting a lot of mc last exception files every time I play the game as well. Should I put one of those on here as well for troubleshooting?

This is one from a modded save. Do you have one without any ?

crinrict​ Yes it's from a modded save. I will try sometime day to get one from a save without mods in it. I was always wondering why I would get last exception when I don't have mods in the mods folder all of the time. That has happened once but I will see if I can get a last exception without mods in the mods folder. It might take me sometime to get one because I don't like playing the game without mods. It's not as fun as it is with mods in the game.

LastExceptions are issues that happen in your game and get logged. It can both happen in modded and unmodded games. You won't see any messages ingame but they are still created in the back (not always though) but all that MCCC and BE do is re-format the game ones and give more info. You will get more with outdated or conflicting mods though but there are game ones,

crinrict​  I've been playing the Sims 4 for a few days and today the last exception just popped up without any mods in my mods folder. But it does say the XML Injector at the top, not sure why with the mods turned off I would think that wouldn't pop up to. But this is the Last Exception that popped up with the mods turned off.

that is a known LE: LastException during travel: VehicleLiabilities.py error | EA Forums - 12703251 but I'm not sure it's related to your IF issue. It happens when you travel.

Does this appear after you tried to turn the IF real ?

crinrict​ I don't know. It might have popped up before and I just didn't realize it. I can try again and see if one pops up after I have my teen sim try to turn their imaginary friend real and see what happens. I have tried recently to turn the imaginary friend real and still nothing happens. Even with turning mods on and turning the mods off.

yeah, delete all the ones you have currently again, then turn IF real, then check your user folder if you have a new file.

these folks said they needed more space. Is this the same as you are seeing ?

crinrict​ I clicked and looked at that other thread and yes, it is similar to the problem I have. I have two sims in my sim's household, and it still don't work. I have tried with a save I have with more sims in the household and still same thing. I can still try to get a last exception if you want me to where I have my sim try to turn their imaginary friend real.
