Cant have more than 7 Sims in household

I have 7 members in a family but I cannot add more animals or children because it sais that I reached the limit. (I'm playing from my PC). Edit By Crinrict: Adjusted Title

Hi,

I don't have the option to try for a baby. When I try to adopt or have a science baby, it says my household is full even though there are 7 sims. I do not have any pets in the household and no one is pregnant as I am able to edit everyone in CAS using cas.fulleditmode. I don't have CC or mods and play on Mac. I have not done any updates to the game or computer that would have triggered this. I have tried restarting and repairing the game. Any help would be appreciated.
