I've finally had success getting my broken kit transferred from the marketplace to the ea app. I spoke with 8 or so advisors before speaking with parvathy, who was willing to transfer/re-issue the kit for me.
I'd tried approaching the issue lots of different ways, and ended up starting a new case simply asking for the kit to be "transferred from the marketplace to the ea app" without even getting into the details of the kit being broken (to avoid the chat getting derailed with troubleshooting attempts).
so it can definitely be done on EA's end, just keep trying and wait to get the right advisor. thank you, parvathy!

How were you able to get in contact with someone? I have the same issue and would also like to reinstall the kit I purchased through the ea app instead of having to rebuy it again.
