After I place one item the next item I select won't place, it flips back to where it was previously, or is carries around by my mouse indefinitely. I found by clicking a different tool across the top...

I am having a lot of trouble with build mode. I have zero mods/cc. Basically the game is preventing me from moving/building/changing anything; then it freezes to the point where I can't exit the game, or save or anything. I have had to force quit 4 times. Example. I go to build a room (which works). Then I go to place a foundation and it wont place. So I tried to grab a chair and place it anywhere in the house, I can only select it, but not place. I'll also try to undo the room, it won't undo. Then, I will rage quit and save, but I can't save, I can't get back to manage worlds and I need to force quit. Is anyone having a similar problem?? This is for Mac; again no cc/mods. Everything I have is through EA. Also, I am a long time sims player, I promise it's nothing obvious.
