After I place one item the next item I select won't place, it flips back to where it was previously, or is carries around by my mouse indefinitely. I found by clicking a different tool across the top...

i’ve been trying to build this house but very quickly into starting the game something glitches and my game is stuck. like i try to build a wall and the wall doesn’t show up, or place an object and it doesn’t appear and the game gets stuck. i have to go to task manager to shut it down because it’ll be stuck on the saving screen. i’ve updated my game and mods. this starting happening after the most recent sims update update and after windows 10 stopped being supported. i’m not sure if it’s a coincidence but my game started being glitchy yesterday. and yesterday sims caused my computer to blue screen (service system exception or something)
i’m going to try and remove my mods and add them back one by one. i’m also in the process of repairing my game. i did find some old mod files mixed up in my game file (not mods folder) so i removed those as well. and i updated my drivers. my last solution is to completely uninstall my game and reinstall it. i’m just wondering if anyone else is having this problem.
update i repaired the game and removed my mods folder. it in fact made it worse. i dont know what to do. the game (build mode) is unplayable.
