After I place one item the next item I select won't place, it flips back to where it was previously, or is carries around by my mouse indefinitely. I found by clicking a different tool across the top like the eyedropper then going back to the select tool it will let me place another item, but only one. Then click on the eyedropper again and back to the select tool, for each item I need to move or place.

In build mode, I was trying to buy a two pumpkin carving stations. I was able to place the first but the second one kept disappearing or unselecting. I would be able to drag it then it would disappear and become unselected. I saved and quit my game and left for a few minutes. I booted it back up and tried to buy a side table, it let me place it but when I tried to buy the trick or treat bowl to put on the table, it wouldn't let me select and drag it. I tried with another random object and it did the same thing. It's like it selects, then when you drag to where you want it it disappears and unselects. If it helps, I had a custom Halloween holiday for the day. I've never used mods and I updated my game this morning. I've used build/buy during my first hour or so of play, this only started happening when it was the custom holiday.
For example, when I’m placing photos I just took of my Sims, or when I’m placing or deleting furniture, I have to keep switching in and out of Build Mode to do it.
Hello, I encounter this bug very often and I was very worried it was a save game corruption issue. Usually, when it happens, I create a new save of my current game and, after a few disconnects and reconnects, the problem eventually resolves itself. The only solution I've found so far is to create a new save/game so I don't have to start all over again each time.
I'm also still having problems. Both before and after the latest patch, still the same problem of not being able to delete furniture, or place wallpapers and floorings. I'm hoping this gets fixed with another patch because it's getting really annoying
I'm still having this problem too even after the update on the 4th November if I try to sledgehammer things away I can do it with one item then have to click the pointer tool (or any other tool in the bar) before going back to the sledgehammer and deleting one more object or two if I'm having a "lucky" day 🙄 Sometimes the items seems like it has been deleted and goes through the animation of it disappearing but it just pops back again. As someone else mentioned bulldozing the lot looks like it is going to work but then it doesn't, nothing has changed on the lot. Before the recent update all I needed to do was go back to the main menu and reload my game and it was "fixed", now I have to quit the game, clean out all the cache files etc and relaunch which is really annoying when you've started a vanilla game (to test the update) and it's the first sim and house you've placed.
I play on a windows gaming laptop, direct x 11, no mods or cc ever.
I log on to the game and after deleting 3 or 4 things in build mode, the game stops deleting anything and unable to build. I also can't sell or put anything into my inventory. The game also then freezes when I try to exit.
I have completed a factory reset and repaired and restarted the computer.
Do not have any mods installed
When I try to place something, it reverts back to the build mode inventory like i didn't click on it i tried restarting and repairing my game and it didn't work, it was just fine yesterday but since the update i haven't been able to place anything.
What did u do to resolve it. Cause im having this issue now 11.2.25!! Helpppppp
When I go into build mode I can pick up items but can’t place them back down and can’t place new items on lots. No mods on Xbox
Couldn't even bulldoze a lot today, it acted like it was going to do it and then simply nothing happened. I was able to sledgehammer one item before it stopped working. Once I was finally able to bulldoze the lot I was unable to place any items or do anything else. This is happening on the museum lot in Oasis Springs (a much smaller lot than the one I previously had the issue on so it does not appear to be lot size related).
Even exiting to main menu and reloading the save and the lot does nothing, it is just stuck being blank with terrain paint on it now.
Editing to add how strange this is: I could not place any objects but it would let me build a wall, then I was able to place a counter on the wall but nowhere else. I can clone the counter and place it once and then it stops working unless I clone it again and it only lets me place it against the wall, nowhere else. I cannot place anything on the counter. If I build another wall it will then let me place something on the counter but again it will only place once and then will not place again unless i clone the object to place it etc.
This is the worst iteration I've encountered of this bug (it seems to only effect some lots and all differently) and it is very bizarre)
