I had the same thing happen to me in my save. I’ve had this child sim for a while since my lifespan is set for long, however when I loaded into my game my child sim would get taken away despite having full stats and being an A student. Then, at the same time the life and death message would pop up offering to play as a free roaming or playable ghost. No matter which option picked, my child sim would just cease to exist completely. I ended up trying to repair my game and move mods out, but it happened at the same time every time I loaded in and nothing worked until I aged him up into a teen.
