This is happening in my save now too since the last patch in prep of Enchanted by Nature. This is a game breaking bug. How can they not address this for so long when the first instance of it was 8 months ago? I literally cannot play the game right now.
Same. My brother got both of his children taken away today-- nothing like that has ever happened to us until the Enchanted by Nature patch
Idk if this has to do with anything, but he accidentally had them skip school ONCE. He got a popup that said smth like "they feel neglected, if you don't get their grades up they'll be taken away!" but they both had good grades
