I found a solution, although unfortunately it requires MCCC. All I did was use MCCC to move her back into my household (Sim commands -> Maintain Sim -> Move Sim). Another thing I tried was when I tried turning her into a ghost, I was able to adopt her back into my household (though I accidentally made her grandma adopt her and also had to turn her into a ghost prior, so I didn't like that method). The first way is easiest, as she maintained her family status.
When all else failed, I was going to try deleting her and replacing her with a clone. That wouldn't have required MCCC.
