I had this issue a few days before the patch. I exited my game without saving, cheated up needs etc, and the Sim continually got taken away even after travelling and reloading. I noticed the fix was in the laundry list, so I waited for the patch.
Patch arrived! I'm currently playing a different household, and the aforementioned Sim was visiting. Then I got a notification and the effects that indicated the Sim was being taken away again. I didn't think this could happen if you're not actively playing the household.
Unfortunately, if playing alternate households doesn't work around the issue, I don't think I'll be able to play until this is fixed.
