Ideas
I've now had three child sims whisked away due to neglect, despite not being neglected. This has usually happened at community lots or events and are not from the family actively being played (ie child playing at rec centre or guest at wedding), though they are from another family in my save that are marked as played. I have been able to re-add two children from the gallery but one has gone missing entirely. I do play with basic mods (MCCC) but all up to date.
This has also happened to me. Only on community lots and while being at the wedding as guests, not actively played sims.
