Children won't inherit their parents nose/mouth (bug in genetics)

I also have this issue. I often will take sims from my personal gallery that I have made over the years and mix their genetics together to make a new sim for me to play with. Front facing the sim looks fine, but when turned for side profile their face is sinking back into their skull. Also, if I try to mix a male sim and a female sim, the kids look nothing like their parents except for skin tone, eye color, and hair color. If I want similar features I have to use two males or two females as the parent genes for each kid.
