During the GeekCon festival, it's impossible to participate in the programming competition (hackathon), while the video game competition remains available. Tested on a clean save without mods. When the tournament announcement appears, the computers are highlighted, but the required interaction is missing

PC, no mods, clean save. Computers start flashing when the competition starts but there's no option to join it. I've had it happen every time I go to the festival, and it's not raining either.
Same here. Have tried everything and still no option.
It's not that for me at least, I can't join either challenge with any sim

No mention of fixing this glitch on the upcoming January 13, 2026 laundry list. But hey, floral baskets will now be sorted as Indoor Plants. You know, important stuff.

I am experiencing this as well, with and without mods; old & new saves; repaired game & cache files cleared.
The computers light up, I get the announcement to participate, but the option is not showing up on the computer.
Same here. I do use mods, but I went with a vanilla game (disabled mods) to see if that was the problem. Still not showing hackathon on computer during challenges. I've tried it both with a brand-new Sim and one that's at Level 10 programming and got the same thing. I hope they get this fixed, my hacker wants that new computer!
I was able to complete the "Ultimate Gaming Test" on both Sims, trying to complete the aspiration, but I had no option for the hackathon. (no mods)
