Symptom
When trying to load a world with a penthouse such as San Myshuno, or Ciudad Endamorada all I get is a white screen...
Ideas
After the latest patch both San Myshuno and Ciudad Enamorada don't load when i try and visit those worlds in manage worlds. The game doesn't crash but it leaves me on a blank screen. I can still access the options menu and quit the game. I've checked and its just those two worlds, all other worlds, including vacation worlds, load fine. Removed all my mods and checked again and they still don't load. I'm speculating that it's because they are the only 2 worlds with penthouse lots?
Hello! I thought I was the only one having problems with this so I'm glad to find this thread. Not long before the recent update I'd just finished a new penthouse rental residential lot in San Myshuno which took me hours to build and was really excited to finally move some families in, that was until the screen went white and completely froze my game and I couldn't figure out why until I saw this post.
After reading the tips here I finally managed to change it back to a plain residential building after having to wait for a festival to appear in my game so I could travel close enough to the lot to be able to visit it and edit it. It wouldn't work by simply changing it though, I had to individually delete all of my apartment units first and then change it back to a residential so San Myshuno was able to load properly again... I've moved the same lot to Newcrest for now until this bug gets fixed as it seems to be working fine on normal plots of land but I shouldn't have to do that just so I can play in the lot I built. It looks completely out of place as it's supposed to be built on an apartment, not a plot of grass!
I find that every time EA updates this game, something else breaks and it really needs to be addressed because I don't waste my hard earned money on expansion packs that break all the time. Us Simmers, who spend a lot of money on this game, shouldn't have to find workarounds for the bugs this game produces!
