I am playing on PS5 and experiencing the exact same issue.
My Sims have the "+3 Tense" moodlet from the gross mystery goo, and it won't go away. In my game, the option/interaction to clean up the goo doesn't even appear, so there is absolutely nothing I can do about it.
I have attached a screenshot of the issue. I hope this gets fixed soon!
