I play a 4-year-old main save file with no mods and no cc. I'm a heavy rotational player, so I turn off aging for animals and unplayed households and I also turn off neighborhood stories. These have all been turned off for years.
Everything was fine for about a year after I purchased Cottage Living. Now, all my chickens die as soon as I load their household. I tested this by buying a chicken coop, filling it with brand new chicks and chickens, then leaving the lot to play other households. When I came back to the "new" coop, all the chickens (including chicks who were NOT aged up - still baby chicks) were dying of old age.
Grim hung out in the garden for hours feasting on chickens. It was brutal.
