Ideas
I am experiencing the same issue in my game.
Usually, I play with CC and a few mods, but for the sake of testing, I removed all CC and mods from my game, deleted the various cache files, cleared my cache in the EA app, and created a new sim in a new save just to test this issue. After doing all of that, the fertilization issue still appears. I took a video in game, but the thread won't allow me to attach it. For the sake of clarity, here I will use crop (singular) to refer to one dirt square with a single crop type planted on it, regardless of how many seedlings are in that dirt square.
So, the sequence of events is this:
- I purchase overgrown crop fertilizer in an amount equal to or more than the amount of crops to fertilize
- I click on a crop and select "fertilize all crops"
- Sim approaches the crop and completes the fertilization animation over just that one crop
- At this time, the sim's inventory shows that the entire stack of fertilizers is removed as the sim approaches the crop
- The fertilizer stack is returned to the sim's inventory and the crops remain as they were (i.e. no "recently fertilized" sparkle)
- I then hover over the supposedly fertilized crop, and the fertilizer status still shows "depleted"
However, when I select "fertilize crop" instead of "fertilize all crops," the sim completes the fertilization animation for the selected crop, the crop starts to sparkle, and the fertilizer status shows "good."
Hopefully that is enough information to be getting on with, but if you need more, please let me know!
