I have been playing one of my supersims for a little while now again. She has completed almost all aspirations (since I bought For Rent and Horse Ranch I have some more to do).
I have noticed though that the Animal aspiration that came with Cats & Dogs flashes as complete when I have it active, but only the first step have a green tic and the rest don't. So it looks like it isn't compete but it is (I know this is a new result of people cheating aspirations complete, but I have not done that on her). It has been bothering me but I have left it alone.
Now, the save I started a few days ago is starting to corrupt. I can't delete things anymore or bulldoze lots and then I couldn't place things from the sims inventory anymore, so i figured it was time to save the supersim again and add her to a new save.
Now in doing this I figured I could have a look at trying a workaround to reset/ fix the animal aspiration so I can redo it and it looking like it should.
I figured if I disable Cats & Dogs (in new save), to then save her to the library in that save (where she won't have the aspiration at all) and then redo the enable pack thing again and add her to another new save (with C&D enabled again), the aspiration should be reset right?
Yeah. That worked. So I can now start over on the animal aspiration and complete it again.
The only issue is that now several other aspirations are broken instead. And that is for ALL version I have of her. Ones I uploaded to the Gallery years ago as well.
So now she is even more messed up than she was and getting her from the older TS4 folder or the Gallery and adding her to a new save won't fix it.
Generating a new TS4 folder and adding her straight from the Gallery to a new save still does not fix it. So all versions are broken.
I assume the reason they broke is maybe because I was working on them as I was working on the animal aspiration/ maybe owning a vet clinic/ had a pet in the household or was building the vet skill or something. Because it is not just base game aspirations that broke. Some broke from step 1, others from step 4, some just one row on the last forth step etc. There is really no rim or reason behind which ones are still marked as complete, and which ones are not.
I don't know what to do know. All of her (versions) are broken and I really like her and was just about to be up to date on all aspirations/ careers and skills on her again...
I have googled but the only "solution" I have found is to download MCCC and reset all aspirations, but I don't want to do that (I could if that was the only issue and I'd just have to replay everything again (sigh)), but I played her during the positivity challenge years ago, so she has the challenge aspiration and the kindness ambassador trait. I don't want to risk making it worse by using the mod to reset her and lose that asp and trait that I assume I can't get back at all.
So I am stuck with a broken sim, and the enjoyment of playing with her the last few days crushed.
I guess this is a heads up for anyone looking into playing the same sim in a new save after you've had them in a save with pack(s) disabled - aspirations might break.
