I'm assuming this has something to do with changes to gardening in recent updates, but when attending the secret society meet up in Britechester, there seems to be no way to interact with the plants ...
Ideas
I can harvest the plants (when in season) but it doesn't register as tending to the sprites garden when that's a secret society task.
