Thank you so much for figuring this out, Turbodriver. Also thanks to Lady_Seluna for reporting it to them!
I have now changed my fairy that was supposed to be coffee skinned as a human but totally white supergoth as a fairy to having the same coffee color skin and the game works fine now!
I have also limited fairies to Innisgreen (my Sim does not live there) until they fix this.
Really hope they figure this out and fix it quickly, but.... I don't think any of us are holding our breath.
