Gathering soy wax neither builds gardening skill, nor (if the sim likes gardening) affect fun need. it also doesn't have a gather all variant similar to harvest all or sell all. Since it is gathering from a plant, it should both build gardening skill, and affect fun need in a manner similar to harvesting or selling from plants. I have also noted that you can gather soy wax when the soy plant is out of season, which is another inconsistency. I haven't played a full game year with soy yet, so don't know if it can be collected in winter, but it definitely can be collected in spring, when the soy plants are out of season.
