I would like to report an issue affecting the Eco Lifestyle Community Lots since the “Love Struck” patch released in July 2024. This update appears to have unintentionally altered or removed key NPC behaviors from these lots, significantly impacting their intended functionality and gameplay experience.
Issue Summary: After the Love Struck patch, all Eco Lifestyle community lot types (Community Space, Community Garden, Market Place, and Maker Space) are missing essential NPC roles and situations. The root cause seems to be the addition of a new lot behavior, NPCDatesEP16, which was applied to these lots. This may have overwritten or removed their original NPC role assignments.
As a result, specific NPCs that previously appeared and interacted with objects on these lots (e.g., vendors, crafters, gardeners, eco activists) no longer show up, making these lots feel empty and unresponsive.
Missing NPC Situations by Lot Type:
Community Space:
- Trash Dumper
- Scrounger Woohoo Couple
- Dumpster Diver
- Board Debaters (vote for new community projects)
Community Garden:
- Child Sim making crafts
- Gardener (planting and watering)
- Insect Farmer
- Board Debaters
- Eco Master (e.g., Knox Greenburg role)
Market Place:
- Board Debaters
- Craft Sales Table Vendor
- Food Stall Vendor
Maker Space:
- Child Sim making crafts
- Candle Crafter
- Woodworker
- Painter
- Fabricator User
- Board Debaters
Notably, some roles such as shoppers (Market Place) and mentors (Maker Space) still appear, suggesting only certain situations were affected.
Suggested Fix: Please review the changes introduced by the addition of NPCDatesEP16 and restore the original NPC situations for these lots. Removing or modifying this new behavior for Eco Lifestyle community lots and reinstating the appropriate roles would greatly improve gameplay consistency and immersion.
Workaround Mod Created: Due to the impact of this issue, a player-created mod has been developed to manually restore the missing NPC situations and remove the NPCDatesEP16 behavior from these lots. While this mod helps to temporarily fix the problem, many players would prefer an official resolution that ensures the lots function as intended without requiring third-party content. HERE the mod.
