Hi everyone
I have checked 4 save games today and want to share some results. On one of the saves, I was unable to duplicate the issue. It loaded fine for me although it took around 2-3 min to load.
The other 3 had an issue that one of the Sims/Households has some kind of corruption which made it that none of the households loaded. I do not know what it was and don't think I have the means to really find out.
On one of the saves I was able to narrow down the culprit but it was their main Sim, so not sure what the best options are.
For the other two it was a Sim in other households but as it's a bit of a tedious work, I haven't been able to figure out which Sim.
If you have this issue, this is my method to test stuff, you can do the same, it doesn't require any extra tools other than a lot of patience and a good system to make sure you know what you have already tested. You can also just wait to see if a solution pops up.
Make sure to keep backups and always work on the backup.
Troubleshooting Part 1
- Load the save and wait for at least 20 min to see if it loads.
- If it loads you probably have a different issue with long loading times. There should be a thread for that on incomplete as the OP hasn't provided much info, so please post there
- If it doesn't load continue with 2
- Go to Manage Household and delete all your households in 'Other Households'
- Test if your game now loads in one of your households
- If it loads, then the culprit is in other households. Try the second part of the troubleshooting steps (see below) on that tab
- If it doesn't load, continue with 4
- Go to Manage Household and delete all your households in 'My Households'
- If it loads then the culprit is in my households. Try the second part of the troubleshooting steps on that tab
- If it doesn't load then you have a different issue. Please create your own thread.
Troubleshooting Part 2
(you can find more info on the 50/50 Method in the mods forum)
- What you are now going to do is basically a 50/50 of the tab you have the issue with.
- Find some good criteria, like sorting by A-Z and then start deleting the households in groups.
- Delete up to certain Sim, then save the game under a new name and try to load a household (Try one with not so many Sims)
- Go on with this method until it starts loading. If it starts loading, the Sim was in that last batch of Sims you deleted. Go back to your backup and start 50/50 on that batch.
- Once you found the household, you start splitting the household and do a 50/50 of the household until you find the culprit.
- Now it's up to you to decide what to do. Delete the Sim and play on without or wait for some kind of solution.
Trying this now!! So far I have already been able to narrow the corrupt household down to being in the "My Households" tab. Thank you so much!

did it work? I'm curious because I don't want to do this. It's my legacy save, some of my important sims ar e in the other folder. I'm not willing to delete anyone in the my households.

sammii1290 you need to work on a backup. Don't do this on your original file. Once you figured out what's causing the issue, you can take it from there.
It is a long and tedious process and your issue might be entirely different. Unfortunately endless loading has many many reasons.
If you have any LastExceptions, it's best to start with those.
