I just click on TS4_Launcher_x64. I don't run as administrator.

may I ask, do you click run as administrator or did you just click on TS4_Launcher_64?

Shouldn't EA owe us some compensation for all the trouble they put us through?

I'm having the same issue, too. The only solution I have found is to launch the game directly from the executable file. Go to: Program files (x86) > Origin games >The Sims 4 > Game > Bin > TS4_Launcher_x64. The game launches every time now. Maybe this will work for you?

I just downloaded the new update. After I enabled mods and restart it came with a failure to launch error. My game will not launch at all since the update.

I have tried the suggested troubleshooting methods. In some cases, they worked. However, the next time I launched the game, it failed again. There are also cases where the game launches successfully without any changes at all.
In my case, when my Mods folder is around 20GB, the game launches successfully about once every 2–3 attempts. But when the Mods folder reaches around 150GB, the game almost never launches successfully. The only time I was able to launch it in that state was after removing the resource.cfg file.
Based on this, I believe this issue is strongly related to the size and number of CC files.

as if all of this wasn’t bad enough my ea app has randomly started bugging out and refusing to let me quit the application, saying it can’t close when Sims 4 is running when Sims 4 is most certainly not running 💕💕

You could also try what Edw suggested, try to go to the folder where your game's executable is (in my case, it was "C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4\Game\Bin" but yours can be different), localize TS4_x64.exe file and run directly from it, and see what happens. In my case, the game loaded successfully.

Did fresh install without mods and with mods launched once each time then when I tried. Third time with mods and every time after it says problem on our end try again later and thats it... well whatever I Uninstalled not wasting a lot of computer space for a broken game right now what a shame
