Failed to launch error/Fully Black Screen when using CC

I am getting this still today. I can sometimes get it to run have checked through all my mods and cc. SEVERAL TIMES to be sure.. It runs with no cc/mods... with half the mods and then with 99% and then not at all with the same that I tested through. There were no issues before the update and then "fix" for that update. This is ridiculous. 

Forced update, because disabling it means nothing if you can't open the game, then an update that breaks the game so badly, that some of us still cannot open the game. You'd think a game costing $1500 and 12 years old would play better. The bare minimum is being able to open the game. And DMing does no good, no one gets back to you. This is how you fully alienate a fanbase that is constantly being kept stressed because of your crappy business ethics. 702 replies and so far we have one pinned message that does f-all. Absolutely inept. I hope you're all stressed and have warm pillows at night for the next 6 months.

Ok everyone was right. I had to keep trying to start the game multiple times. Started after 8 times in offline mode. All 7k mods and cc worked. 

SAME. I always have my autoupdates off and i was certain i already had it on offline mode. Soon as I saw others weren't willing to risk and just play offline i booted up EA and my stomach almost fell out my .. it was updating. I gave them the benefit of the doubt though.. this was after they "FIXED" the cc issue. Seriously the amount of money, time, effort people put into this game they need to care more or pay us damages to our mental health lmfao. Over 700 comments and had a look on X, people complaining there too and they just oblivious like "whats the issue?" LIKE GIRL BYE bffr

I removed all mods yesterday, and it started. I was able to add back most of them and I could play. This morning, in spite of not changing a thing, I'm getting this error again. This started after the latest update. How do I fix this?? 

It's unbelievable that there hasn't been a statement on the matter yet; there are already 700 comments and more and more people are reporting this problem in their games.

And I want to add that although I can access some files, they don't load in the game.

I 1000% agree with you. I only play because of the mods I have. They keep the game interesting for me. EA doesn't offer those things. I refuse to give any more time or energy to a company that has made it very clear they no longer want my money under my terms.

I know how you feel. I almost crashed out last night. I didn't mean to install this update, they forced it on me and I've always had auto updates disabled. Opened the EA app, and then switched to another window for a second... In hindsight I should have went into offline mode immediately, but I never had a forced update before this. They're really hellbent on pushing that Marketplace onto as many people as possible.

Sims 4 is unplayable without my mods. If they don't fix this, then I guess I am done. Like, I will find a whole new franchise. I have zero interest in sims 5 or whatever.

I am so sorry none worked! I absolutely believe there is something deeper going on, you're absolutely right! It really seems like these particular fixes help in cases where there is something surface level happening between the file communication/EA app loading, but not for whatever the deeper issue is.  I keep watching Sims Direct to see if they say anything else!

Of course, many aren't yet aware of the full extent of the problem. This includes weekend players, those who haven't updated at all, and probably thousands more who are (unfortunately pointlessly) searching their folders for broken custom content/mods. EA still hasn't acknowledged that they made a mistake. Thanks to everyone contributing temporary workarounds – but I, too, will not change my PC settings or any other software, or potentially manipulate game files, for something that worked perfectly until March 17th.
