I don't believe all these steps are necessary. Sure, I've repaired the game several times since Wednesday and created a new mod folder with a new cfg. Today I tried a more persistent approach, since the error seems to appear randomly. On the 15th attempt, my game loaded, including all custom content and mods! It might be relevant that I'm only in offline mode now, as I don't want to be caught off guard by another hotfix. Perhaps I'm just getting lucky, since I only have 55GB of custom content. The fact remains: 50/50 methods are a waste of time. My custom content/mods were up to date on March 17th, no creator reported anything as broken, and they're still working.

Is this for real? Why doesn’t the team just look at the previous saves they have and see what happened before you jacked it up. Like listen to yourself… asking players to do the heavy lifting per usual because the team can’t figure it out what they jacked up. Unbelievable. It’s embarrassing.

It’s an issue for both I’ve been doing the 50/50 and it’s been corrupt mod files so far that won’t allow the game to run.

Sims_PODCAST the black screen is caused by an outdated version of the UI cheats mod as confirmed by the creator, Weerbesu. You need to download the updated version.

The only way I can get my game to launch with mods installed is to play offline. It has absolutely no issues when offline.

I will try these steps. What would I be renaming the user folder to for clarification?

(Not adding anything new to help fix the issue because I have nothing, just related to the venting part of xCaptainxCatx comm)
This is a huge mess and it's not on us and definitely not on mods creators. Creators are just passionate players of a game that does zero to appreciate them and their work, who release their stuff for other people to enjoy. At this point they're doing more than the game itself, which doesn't seem to listen to its players' wants and needs and cannot release a single DLC or patch that doesn't break something or isn't full of bugs.
This Marketplace bs isn't a way of trying to integrate console players, it's just another way of trying to make money behind a paywall with content created by players who will only see 30% of the revenue.
Really wish they would just start from scratch and fix the unfixable issues with ts4 instead of just adding to the pile of dirt. - Sims_PODCAST9 days agoSeasoned Newcomer
Unfortunately, the game still not fixed yet. I suddenly get another problem like black screen in main menu while using CC and MODS. Do you know how to fix this problem?

Same here. I tried testing the mods first and then the CAS CC. Just with the mods my game opened (at least for now), but when I tried to put the CC back I got the error again. I've been trying to play ever since they released the second update that was supposedly to "fix" the first one with other bug with the CCs.

AI gave me a fix and it worked. Delete the mods folder and the stuff like the cache, accountdb, like if you had LE's and deleted everthing. Delete resource cfg. Then go to EA APP Manage> View Properties> in the Advanced Launch Options type -dxn. This forces directx 9. AI says the problem is with DX 11. I did it and it worked. I can play my game with my cc now. Oh and repair your game.
