If any Sims team member needs my user folders to playtest, here they are. My original mods folder is pretty big (about 11k mods, don't judge), but when I was trying to fix my game, I ended up deleting a good chunk of my custom content. However, I still have more custom content to go through, so the mods folder in that link doesn't include all of my cc. Despite that, I am still getting an error to launch the Sims 4.
I've tried fixing my game by clearing EA cache multiple times, repairing my game, combing through my mods folder and deleting the local cache, and disabling EA's in-game overlay. In order to actually launch my game, I have to have no cc or mods or I have to delete a bunch of things (which isn't guaranteed to work half the time). If you have any questions, please let me know!!

I've been tinkering with my mods folder and settings since last night and nothing is consistent. I could try a fix, and sometimes It will load. But then if i restart my game with no further changes, the error will pop up again. it's so frustrating.

I have been playing sims for about 20 years and I have to say I'm very disappointed right now. Ever since the new update my game will not load about 90% of its CC that I have spent YEARS collecting and now the game will not even launch. Some of the CC content I have paid for through patron and not to mention all the money I have spent in EA to play sims 4. Are there any solutions to this issue? I've tried to do multiple things to see if is would fix the issue. Obviously I have had no success.

last night I was able to add my cc back to my mods folder SLOWLY I have around 250 cc and I have a little over half of them put in and it let me play(with mild lag) but this morning I go to boot it up and I get the sims failed unexpectedly message again (I'm on Mac) I'm actually so irritated the sims is horrible without cc and mods and I'm literally gonna stop playing along with so may others if this doesn't get fixed.

This is the only way that I've found works for me as well - you can put the game in offline mode load the game, however once it is back in online mode and you make ANY alterations to your mod folder (like taking a folder out and putting it back in) the error message will load. It has to do with the marketplace for sure. Given everything I also can't be 100 percent sure all of my cc is actually loading, although i hope it is.
*Oh but btw I need to click on the play button in offline mode like seven times before it actually works so who knows wtf is going on. And fyi EA having to play in offline mode is not a fix to what is clearly some issue that was caused by this update.
