Failed to launch error/Fully Black Screen when using CC

Two things are really driving me crazy:

EA's public image is still acting like the hotfix from March 18th is the savior – when in fact it's making things even worse for many players!

There's also no official statement that the problem lies with the game's starting instance, not with custom content or mods. Hundreds (or even thousands) of users are wasting time searching for broken custom content, even though it's not broken (if their content was up-to-date on March 17th).

Dear EA team: Admitting mistakes and issuing warnings about your own product is also good service and can have a positive impact on your brand image.

But EA is appearing to come out with a fix of their own. Hopefully it actually works this time. No such fixes from the community, but I'll try later if I can.

I did some more digging on the forums, no luck on a fix for now. I'll keep my eyes peeled.

same thing for me 😭😭 when I try to filter out the broken cc it's so odd and all of them are literally up to date

It’s Monday TheSimsDirect​ have yall fixed the problem yet ? The hotfix didn’t work. The weekend is over…. What’s going on……??? 

I swear if we only get an updated for that lo fi no one asked for, you are going to have a riot lol I'd like to think, in a perfect world we will get a fully worki by game today. Then I remember this is EA, so chances are still won be able to play today. 

When you get a notification that the Sims posted something and you think its about the fix but its just an announcement for a collaboration that even if we wanted it, We cant get into our games to play it🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 WHAT THE ACTUAL **bleep** they are **bleep** with our emotions atp

Yeah, this is the absolute worst update fiasco I can remember. And EA won't let you play at all unless you agree to their crappy updates. This is why I never buy any add-ons.

That's a shame, and I'm sorry for you. It's been going on like this for five days now. And none of the many suggested temporary fixes (which, by the way, come from the community, not from EA – which is ridiculous) work the same for all users. What on earth were they programming just to introduce this unnecessary Marketplace? The game always had bugs, sometimes more, sometimes less. But it was playable!

I have no problem launching the game with mods, but as soon as I put in cc it won't even open
