Description:
Door lock settings on Residential Rental lots reset when switching between households.
When playing on a Residential Rental lot with multiple units, door locks do not persist after switching to another household. If I lock doors while playing one family, then switch to any other unit and return, some or all doors become unlocked. This happens even if I immediately switch back — the amount of time spent playing the other household does not matter. Some doors lose their lock every time (locked for everyone), some only occasionally (locked only for chickens), while others never reset (mostly interior doors and a gate locked for horses).
On the screenshot 1 and 2 you can see which doors were locked and became unlocked after switching units.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a Residential Rental lot with multiple separate houses (units).
2. Move families into at least two units.
3. Play as the first family and lock several doors.
4. Switch to another household (via world map or by clicking a door — method does not matter).
5. Switch back to the first household and check the doors.
Expected Result:
Door lock settings should persist when switching between households on the same Residential Rental lot.
Actual Result:
Most or all door locks are reset and become unlocked.
Additional Notes:
The issue occurs both with mods enabled and with no mods installed.
Reproduced with a freshly created The Sims 4 folder, in a new save file, on a newly built Residential Rental lot.
The issue appears to have existed since the release of For Rent.
It does not matter whether the property owner lives on the lot or not.
Re-locking doors every time when playing multiple families on the same lot is very tedious and disrupts gameplay (e.g. animals like chickens escaping repeatedly).
