[FR] Foundation edges becoming transparent in Residential Rentals

When a regular foundation and a elevated foundation i.e. 'Stilt Foundation' share an edge, and the lot is converted to a Residential Rental lot the face of the regular foundation i.e. 'Ton of Bricks Foundation' no longer shows and a void can be seen through it.

Now you see it. Convert to Residential Rental...

Now you don't

The void doesn't initially show but once the foundations reloads; saving and loading, entering and exiting create-a-sim, previewing a new foundation type from the foundations menu, etc. the foundation face disappears.

Oh Sorry. I wasn't using any mods and I am using the PC (Steam) version of the game.

  • When I made a residential rental lot and played as a landlord I had this happen as well, also stairwells started having solid floors even though the sims could still use the stairs.  The save became corrupt in the end and unplayable. Also the ownership panel of the units kept disappearing (was saying they didn't own a rental).  I have since learnt that this has happened to a number of players. I was on a laptop at the time, tested without mods and still had the issues.

  • Erd_0001 I was able to replicate the issue in a test build.  I've no idea why it happens, but it does and apparently it only happens with a residential rental venue.  I tested a few other venues, and it doesn't happen with them.  So, I would consider it some sort of bug with the residential rental venue type.

But it's just a visual thing.  In game, you could hide it with strategic placement of bushes or objects, and no one would be the wiser unless they looked closely.

    Hope this helps.
