Tennant left, was only allowed to have max £5 rent. I went and moved an item in build mode, this reset the value enough for me to fill at better rent rate. But then has defaulted back.

crinrictMy max rent on this unit is $550 those didn't change, but there are no tenants that can afford it but previous to me evicting two tenants there were. I have 2 units that are doing this. Yes, I tried repairing the game but no luck. Its still the same.

that picture looked the same as the old issue. I think it's fine. Up to EA to figure out if there's two issue.

I have been having this same problem for months now... Tried again today with the new small business pack but same problem. I can add that I also noticed it says 0 bed 0 bath in the description of the rental. I do play with mods and cc but have seen multiple others with the same problem that do not. Interesting the problem has been going on this long considering it is an expansion pack.
I build a rental in my save game and it is a 4-star rental there are 3 units, and they all say the max price is 4 but then I can set the max amount to the tenants needs
I have cleared my cache folder, and I took out my mods and I have played a new save, and it still does the same and I have repaired my game
I also searched for someone with the same problem, and I can't find anyone
I'm having the same issue. After installing business and hobbies, rentals that I've had for multiple generations lost all their tenants and max rent was reset to incredibly low amounts; i.e. $4 max rent on a 5 star rental with amazing amenities.
Workaround tried: I sent my sim to the rental and filled vacancy of one unit. Saved, quit, restarted. Unjustly evicted in person through the social menu. Loaded up the rental and my max rent was back up to previous on only that one unit, unit 1 of tranquil crescent. The other three units were still sitting at low max. Unfortunately looks like I'm going to have to do this for every single unit I have across my entire world.

I have this issue too. Max rent allowed is $2 no matter what I do. Removed mods, repaired game several times, deleted useless files left over… nothing works. In addition my max rental days is auto set to 14. It won’t allow me to lower the days entered, and in gameplay it won’t go down each day. It is stuck at 14. For Rent needs a complete overhaul!
The same thing happened to me. I have bought for rent quite recently, maybe a month or two ago. At first all was well, and then one of the tenants died (he was the only one in this unit) and since then all units in this rental have a max value of around 4/5$.
I have 2 rentals, one where I live + one more unit, it's a duplex. And the second rental has two units, also a duplex, where the issue is occurring.
The rental unit on the property that I live at has no problem, it's only the second property. After the tenant died I went to look for new ones and they all had max rent of around $5, but because I had a pre-set rent for the previous tenant I didn't want to lower it so I left it as it was, leaving the unit empty. Then randomly a new tenant started occupying the flat - I did not make an agreement with him, so not sure how it happened, he just appeared, but the rent was stil set to what it was before so I didn't evict him hoping for even a slightly higher income.
When it was rent collection day, I got a notification with the amount I have received and a line saying that any owed rent will show in the business panel - nothing showed so I wonder if this is a generic message for just in case, or if the game is reading the income as if it's receiving only the 4/5$ but because the rent is pre-set to higher, it's thinking there is something outstanding. Not sure if it's connected at all or if the income thing is an actual issue, I just know that I received less than I should have for all the 3 properties combined.
